Addressing the Board

Unified School District 204 Board of Education policies provide opportunities for citizens to address the Board, and each prepared agenda for the regular monthly meeting provides a time for recognition of guests. During this time, patrons may present their ideas and concerns regarding the schools. Complaints regarding students or employees will not be presented during this portion of the meeting. Such concerns are best resolved closest to the situation, and patrons are encouraged to contact the local school or department that can best handle the matter.

If you have an item you would like to address with the Board, please complete this form so the district can arrange an opportunity. Paper copies of the request form can also be made available upon request. Should you have any trouble completing the form, please email [email protected] or call (913) 422-5600 to speak with the Superintendent. Requests to speak should be submitted by the Friday prior to each BOE meeting.

Please note that requests to speak before the Board of Education can only be honored at regularly scheduled meetings and not special meetings. Click here for a full schedule of USD 204 BOE meetings.

When addressing the Board, citizens should use the following guidelines:

  • Be recognized by the Board President.
  • State name and address for the record.
  • Limit remarks to the designated topic.
  • Limit remarks to no more than five minutes.
